The Housing Trust has always had a good relationship with the club after sponsoring the junior team kits and two advertising boards at the club, which is based on Longley Lane, Northenden.
Founded in 1876 they play in the Manchester & District Cricket League and have contributed to the development of cricket in south Manchester and Wythenshawe for many years. They are now assisting with cricket development in the local schools and academies supported by Manchester schools and play a big part in the local community for both sport and social activities.
The Wythenshawe Club Chairman Mike Dean said “The officers of the club have worked hard over many years to develop the club to what it is today and it’s rewarding that we have been recognised and supported by Parkway Green again for our efforts in the community. Most local people appreciate our officer’s dedication and contribution to the development of young children which is one of the reasons for our continued success”.
Ian Gregg, Director of Communities and Investment at Parkway Green said, “We are delighted to continue our support for Wythenshawe Cricket Club and all the good work they do with all ages of the community. As this demonstrates we are not just about bricks and mortar but we also want to support and invest in the local community that surrounds our homes to help create a brighter future for Wythenshawe”.
