Four 5kms fun runs for all abilities, promoted to encourage health and fitness among Manchester communities are about to be launched in Wythenshawe Park.

Famously called The Sale 5k Sizzlers and now in their seventh year, over 500 people of every speed, shape and size jog their way around the flat, scenic 5k course within the park to become fitter, faster and healthier.

All are rewarded with goody bags of healthy nutritious products and those who complete all four events are awarded medals. The series is promoted by Sale Harriers.

This year participants are encouraged to raise money for St Ann’s Hospice currently celebrating forty years of caring for the people of Manchester. Sale Rotary Club is also providing special awards for Manchester residents who take part in the face of adversity.

If you’ve taken part in the Bupa Gt. Manchester run or the Race for Life series and would like to repeat the experience or if you’re one of those hundreds who daily run the streets of Manchester, these 5k Sizzlers are for you.

They’re held at 7.30pm on Thursday on June 30th, July 14th and 28th and August 11th and all start and finish on the athletic track in the park.
