The National Fostering Agency has signed a partnership deal with the Wythenshawe Town Juniors Football Club for a one year sponsorship period.

For the next year the NFA logo will appear on pitch side billboard advertising and NFA will be at football events throughout the year. This partnership is designed to raise the profile of fostering and the urgent need for foster carers in the Wythenshawe area.

Gill Guy Edwards NFA Regional Manager for the North West said: “The Wythenshawe Town Juniors Football Club play a central role in the local community and we are glad to make this investment which will benefit many children and young people.

We would like to reach out to the club’s supporters and ask anyone who wants to make a difference to the life of a child and who is interested in finding out more about fostering to contact us. Becoming a foster carer is a fulfilling profession that can offer many challenges and rewards. Our foster carers receive an excellent support package, ongoing training and a generous tax free allowance”

“We are looking for people from the Wythenshawe area who may come from a wide variety of backgrounds and age groups.

You may be married, live as a couple, be single or divorced. Carers can be employed, unemployed or retired. You may be home-owners or tenants, as long as you have a spare bedroom available. You don’t need to have any formal qualifications and we welcome applications from all ethnic groups, cultures and religions.

We are particularly interested to hear from people who have experience of working with vulnerable children or adults, perhaps in social care, youth or police work.

“As a foster carer you will need:
To have the time and energy to invest in a child or young person, as well as being flexible, patient and understanding.
A spare bedroom

There is currently a shortage of approximately 1,800 foster carers in the North West. NFA are seeking foster carers for long term, short term and emergency fostering.

The NFA provide excellent training, support and allowances.

If you feel you could help change a child’s life please contact the National Fostering Agency by calling 0845 2004040 or visit www.nfa.ws and register your interest.
