All the runners wore T-shirts in support of the ‘Wythenshawe Games’, two weeks of sporting events and other fun activities taking place across the area next July ahead of the London 2012 Olympics, to promote the community and a healthy lifestyle while having some fun along the way!

Their will be lots of different events going on during the Games, both sporting and many other activities. If you would like to get involved or just find out more then visit www.realliveswythenshawe.com

All team Wythenshawe runners managed to finish the run with respectable times and also managed to raise over £500 for local Wythenshawe charities through various different sponsorships.

Director of Communities & Investment at Parkway Green Ian Gregg said. “A massive thanks to all those who represented Wythenshawe in the run not to mention those who donated, sponsored and supported us along the way. We hope that you can all come and get involved in spirit of the Wythenshawe Games as it’s going to be a spectacular event”

Des Rafferty, Mechanical Manager at Willow Park who took part in the 10k run, said: “It was a great experience and one that everyone should do at some point in their life! It was a fantastic day for lots of good local causes and hopefully next year’s Wythenshawe Games will be just as successful.”
