‘Brooklands Gardens’ are Parkway Green’s first new builds and will be 11 new two bed sustainable bungalows for the over 55’s on Carrswood Road, formally the Brooklands Trade and Labour Club.
Part funded by the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA), work is now well underway on the site which is expected to be completed by December 2011.
Parkway Green is working in partnership on the project with contractors Bramalls Construction and Wilkinson Cowan and all five of Parkway Green’s building apprentices have been working on the new build project.
Apprentice Heating Engineer Mark Whiney said, “It’s nice to be working on this project, it’s something different from the usual and it’ll be great to see finished buildings at the end.’
Assistant Director of Property Services at Parkway Green Paul Butterworth, said, “Work is going well on the Trust’s first new build homes and the apprentices are doing a great job. We will continue to look at different ways to meet demand for housing in the area and do everything we can to keep our promise to deliver a brighter future for Wythenshawe.”
