The Academy which opened in 2009 has demonstrated that the rapid improvement in standards achieved in 2010 has been replicated again this year.

41% of students achieved 5 A*-C GCSEs grades including English and maths.

More than 51% of students achieved A*-C GCSE passes in English and in maths, which included some outstanding student achievement.

Billie Meredith achieved 10 GCSEs at B and above including 4 A *s and twins Eloise and Heather Critchley both achieved excellent results reaching a grand total of 24 GCSEs at grade B and above including 8As and 4A*s.

Mate Slovak arrived at the Academy a year ago from Hungary with very limited English and with support from the team of dedicated staff achieved 7 GCSEs at grades A*-Cs.

Success was not limited to the students of the Health Academy as a team of teaching assistants each achieved grade C in maths.

Principal Barry Burke said “we are delighted with these results which demonstrate that we have continued to build on last year’s success and once again we have exceeded our ambitious targets.
