Officers from Parkway Green Housing Trust are visiting tenants who fall victim to burglary along with members from the Northenden Neighbourhood Policing Team to offer crime prevention advice and make security improvements to homes.
Parkway Green staff will carry out joint visits to their tenants to help identify where they can install security measures such as exterior lighting, fencing, hedge removal and window shock alarms.
As part of their daily tasks Parkway Green staff will hold estate walkabouts and target hotspot areas with the police to identify vulnerable properties and deter offenders from committing crime. As part of this they also carry out property inspections and tenancy audits to identify vulnerable customers and any repairs needed in their properties.
Sergeant Neil Tolley said: “Burglary is a priority for the Local Policing Team and we are doing all we can to prevent residents falling victim to this distressing crime.
“We already work very closely with Parkway Green Housing Trust and by carrying out joint visits and sharing intelligence with them we will be able to identify vulnerable Parkway Green properties and act straight away, before a burglar has chance to take advantage.
“We can also combine our knowledge of the area and build up intelligence on offenders.”
Neighbourhood Housing Manager at Parkway Green Housing Trust Jo Cowap said: “We will continue to work closely in partnership with the police to help tackle burglary in our areas and if any of our customers have any concerns or would like any security advice or information then please get in contact with us and we would be happy to help”
