"Not In My Neighborhood" Week

4xPolice in south Manchester will be speaking to residents as part of an ongoing initiative to raise awareness about what is being done to make communities safer and tackle neighbourhood issues. Not in My Neighbourhood Week will see police and police community support officers (PCSOs) patrol selected streets across the borough to conduct face-to-face surveys with residents. PCSOs will be talking to residents about their Neighbourhood Policing Teams, finding out what issues are of most concern to them and helping to set priorities. The home visits also give the teams the chance to introduce themselves to the community, provide contact details and ask how people would like to be communicated with in the future. Chief Inspector Peter Jones said: “The Policing Pledge and Neighbourhood Policing is all about making sure that officers are tackling the things that matter most to residents.  Although we hold regular meetings and surgeries not everybody has the chance to attend so it is important to give them an opportunity to have their voice heard and let us know what they think of local policing so we can adapt our service accordingly. “Residents can also tell us what matters to them by visiting our website gmp.police.uk, where you can fill out a short questionnaire online”.
